Viktor Yanukovych met with Vladimir Putin

Upon termination of work of the United Russia party 10th congress the Party of Regions Leader Viktor Yanukovych held a meeting with United Russia Chairman Vladimir Putin.
The prospects for further enhancement of cooperation between two parties were discussed during the meeting, particularly, imbuing the Agreement on Cooperation between the Party of Regions and the All-Russian party United Russia with qualitatively new content.
Viktor Yanukovych underlined that the Party of Regions and the United Russia as the most influential political forces in our countries will serve as a guarantor for stability in relations between Ukraine and Russia.
"Being the major political forces in our countries we have vividly maintained contacts in order to have an influence on our states' policy to magnify the relations of strategic partnership between Russia and Ukraine, as well as to extend economic cooperation", the Party of Regions Leader noted.
Besides, during the meeting the sides raised a matter of the necessity to resume traditional good-neighbor relations between Ukraine and Russia, as well as the issues of cooperation and coordination of the efforts aimed at handling the aftereffects of the economic crisis. | |
