Viktor Yanukovych: The government's report should be made with the participation of all high state officials

The Party of Regions demands the government's report to be heard, as well as a number of laws directed on overcoming inflation and rise in prices to be adopted before making alterations to the 2008 budget. The Party of Regions Leader Viktor Yanukovych declared this today at the Conciliatory Council meeting.
He also pointed out that it is necessary to analyze the situation, which has occurred in the country in the first half of 2008, "and listen to the government concerning all the issues, which are present nowadays in the country".
Viktor Yanukovych noted that this report should be made with the participation of all high state officials, including President of Ukraine.
The Chairman of the Party of Regions parliamentary faction also stated that the faction suggests considering a number of drafts elaborated by the Party of Regions regarding the regulation of inflationary processes in Ukraine prior to examining alterations to the 2008 State budget. "Given due circumstances the Party of Regions is ready to participate vividly in consideration of the draft on alterations to the budget, and in case of efficient collaboration – support it", Viktor Yanukovych said. He marked that the Party of Regions also proposed considering issues on preparation for Euro 2012 and adopting the 2009 budget resolution.
He supposed that parliament would not have time to deal with the draft on alterations to the budget this week. "We are unlikely to have time to cope with it", Viktor Yanukovych said in particular, and added that the Party of Regions proposes extending the session for a week.
Viktor Yanukovych also declared that the Party of Regions would suggest forming the temporary ad hoc commission for elaborating drafts on making alterations to the Constitution already at this session. "We are ready to introduce a draft on alterations to the Constitution this plenary week. Therefore, we will also propose, dear colleagues, considering this issue altogether and forming the temporal ad hoc commission already this session", Viktor Yanukovych said. | |
