Viktor Yanukovych: The Party of Regions will make every effort to implement the European Charter for Regional Languages

The Party of Regions Leader Viktor Yanukovych, who visits Crimea today, on the live air of TRC "Crimea" expressed his opinion that tests on entry and completion of educational establishments should be held not only in the Ukrainian language but also in the national minorities' languages.
"As soon as we come in power, firstly, I will discharge minister Vakarchuk, who is an author of these innovations. We will, naturally, abolish these tests, which today lays down discriminatory conditions for the Russian-speaking children", V. Yanukovych said.
With that said, he pointed out that the Party of Regions would make every effort to implement the European Charter for Regional Languages and pass appropriate acts, which would envisage a differentiated approach to the Russian and other languages of the people living in Ukraine. | |
