Party of Regions requires prolonging the work of Parliament and protecting the citizens of Ukraine Statement of the Party of Regions

Party of Regions requires prolonging the work of Parliament. It is necessary to pass the budget. But not the budget of eating up, not the budget which will further reduce people's standard of living. We suggest passing a series of laws which will substantially improve the situation in the country, and increase the welfare of the citizens. Therefore we insist on returning the privileges to pensioners, veterans and other categories of unprotected citizens and promoting the prestige of miners' work, increasing the living wage, – in a word, protecting people from the highest prices, and economy – from permanent blows which the government strikes at it.
If the coalition supports such initiatives made by our Party, we will be ready to vote for the budget.
But before this it is necessary to listen to the government's report, in public, in Parliament, with participation of all high officials, desirably with the participation of President, and give public estimations and draw conclusions for avoiding the same mistakes in the future.
If the complex of measures for the defence of people and economy offered by us is not approved, we will not be able to support the budget which, as it is offered today by the government, is the reflection of the erroneous policy of 2005, with the same mistakes in 2008.
The whole world knows that Ukraine needs a reform of the judicial system. Because everyone suffers from the corrupted Ukrainian courts. Therefore we insist on putting an end to the corruption in courts. Honest judges should be able to work. And we, by the way, know well, which political force holds monopoly on the courts in Ukraine. This should definitely be done away with. Once and forever. It is necessary to listen to the recommendations of the Venetian commission and pass the laws which reform the judicial system in Ukraine.
Party of Regions will also propose for consideration in Parliament an issue of creating a Temporary special commission on research of alterations to the Constitution. We have already begun consultations with all factions on this matter.
We will also insist on passing necessary acts which will provide trouble-free preparation for Euro-2012.
We are convinced – Parliament can not go on vacation, not having fulfilled these very important tasks. | |
