My dear fellow countrymen!
Let me heartily congratulate you on Independence Day!
A thorny path has been passed by our people for these seventeen years. There were ups and downs, victories and, unfortunately, defeats which could have been avoided. Today the Ukrainian state has also found itself in a difficult economic and political situation.
Nevertheless, we should face the future with optimism because as the People we have demonstrated to the whole world everlasting faith in the native State, ability to overcome any difficulties, aspiration to live in peace and consent with all people.
It is indeed a great achievement, and we have a perfect right to be proud of it.
I congratulate you, my dear fellow countrymen, on Independence Day!
I wish you robust health and I wish your children joy!
