The Party of Regions Leader Viktor Yanukovych held a meeting with US Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Ukraine William Taylor. The parties discussed the internal political situation in Ukraine and issues of international affairs.

"There is no alternative to unity of key political forces represented in parliament, – the Party of Regions Leader marked. – Bad peace is better than a good war. Therefore, we have to reach an agreement for the sake of Ukraine".

According to Viktor Yanukovych, the Party of Regions formed the negotiating groups with all parliamentary factions. "It is impossible to create a stable coalition without the Party of Regions because we represent a half of Ukraine and it cannot but be taken into account", Viktor Yanukovych mentioned. In his opinion, the results of these negotiations will shape a would-be format of this coalition. At the same time, the Party of Regions Leader did not exclude the possibility of conducting pre-term parliamentary elections.



William Taylor underlined that the US government did not favor any color of the coalition. "As previously we will work with any coalition and government which will be formed under the law", the US Ambassador pointed out.
