Recently, groundless reports of politically engaged and bluntly slanderous content directed on humiliating the achievements of Viktor Yanukovych's Government performance have continually appeared in the media.
In particular, on December 3, 2007 several Internet editions issued a material which tells that some enigmatic research workers-experts group of 25 persons gave negative estimations of the Government's performance.
However unbiased data from domestic statistics and international rating organizations testify another.
The first. The basic index of estimating achievements of the Government performance in the economic sphere according to the world practice is the real gross product growth index (GDP).
GDP growth dynamics (%): V.Yanukovych, Y.Ekhanurov, Y.Tymoshenko

Consequently Yanukovych's Government performance both in 2003-2004 and in 2006-2007 was the most successful one. But it is obvious that someone strives to show everything vice versa in the current political situation.
The second. According to the data from international evaluation and rating agencies and international financial organizations, the estimate for economic freedom and business conditions in 2007 as compared to 2005-2006 did not worsen.
Moreover, according to the Economist weekly data, in the 2008-2012 entrepreneurship favouring conditions rating Ukraine raised by 5 basis points in comparison with the 2003-2007 rating. This rating is calculated on the basis of 90 indices by the special methodology. It is comprised of the corruption, economy shadowing and tax burden indices as well as many others.
The third. According to the estimate on a 10-point scale (0 is highly corrupted, 10 is not corrupted) by 'Transparency International', the leading international organization against corruption, the level of corruption in Ukraine is appraised: in 2005 – 2,6 points, in 2007 – 2,7 points. These are unbiased estimations of a special international organization rather than amateur attempts of unprofessional experts.
Statistics convincingly testify that in 2007 almost all economic and social indicators improved, the production in all industries and in all regions increased, hryvnia was stable as well as the monetary and banking policy.
I would like to note once again that this is official statistical data and the international organizations' evaluations based on a wide range of indices rather than the lobby polls of a small group of research workers with the doubtful task or order. And indeed using facts which are tested and confirmed by skilled experts instead of those begot by the political state of affairs will let the media workers preserve their professional reputation without misleading (even unintentionally) the public.
