Yuriy Miroshnichenko: A draft of alterations to the Constitution was elaborated by the Party of Regions on its own

Commenting on political statements about Viktor Medvedchuk's involvement in elaborating the Party of Regions' alterations to the Constitution of Ukraine, People's Deputy, the Party of Regions faction member Yuriy Miroshnichenko noted:
"I state with all responsibility that a draft of alterations to the Constitution was elaborated by the Party of Regions independently and any other politician, including Viktor Medvedchuk, has nothing to do with the text of changes presented by the Party of Regions. I personally participated in this work, so I can assure that the draft of alterations to the Constitution was prepared without outsourcing specialists, because the Party of Regions has a sufficient number of high-skilled experts on constitutional law.
At the same time, I cannot rule out that Viktor Medvedchuk has consulted the BYUT while drafting their suggestions on alterations to the Constitution. This conclusion can be drawn from the statements and suppositions made by some experts. An attempt to hide such collaboration between Viktor Medvedchuk and Yulia Tymoshenko by spreading a canard in the media about collaboration between Viktor Medvedchuk and the Party of Regions is quite a widespread practice among the BYUT politicians. There is a proverb "an uneasy conscience betrays itself". In general, a principle of laying one's own fault at somebody else's door is a typical feature of the orange team politicians' work.
I acknowledge Viktor Medvedchuk as a high-skilled lawyer in Ukraine, but I cannot assert that he would agree to such collaboration, taking into account the vast amount of dirt, offence and accusations voiced against him by Yulia Tymoshenko". | |
